Having a plan B and Thinking on your feet
If you are moving into a property with a lift or stairs, it’s important to pre-plan the logistics to ensure all items fit in your new home. This includes oversized items that don’t fit in smaller areas or staircases.
For example, I recently moved a client with a mid-century sideboard that couldn’t find upstairs. Using my quick thinking, I created a plan B and found a nearby forklift driver who was able to help. We wrapped the sideboard in plenty of blankets and used the forklift to deliver the sideboard up to the third level of the townhouse.
In my experience, having a back-up plan for unique items is the key to a successful move.

“We were introduced to Kym via a friend and I’m so glad we met. We moved from the house we survived covid in to a three storey townhouse and without Kym I think we may have lost our minds and/or divorced.
Kym made the whole process so stress free, with her calm and kind advice and care the whole way. We engaged her for a full service move, including packing, moving and unpacking, which we had never done before. Kym was there supervising the whole time, which meant she was able to help with unexpected scenarios like a mid century sideboard that couldn’t make it up the stairs. (She found a nice fork lift driver to help!)
She helped us make sure we have enough clothes for the days where our things were packed up and she even brought us flowers and chocolates to celebrate our successful move.
Kym even loaned us two champagne flutes just so we could Cheers to the move.
I was so impressed with her ability to take on this huge task and I will be moving with her in the future if we ever move again!
Thank you so much Kym!”
